Freedom Days 2010 Celina, OH

Mary Hone raffled a quilt that she made to honor Freedom.  Mary will be donating the proceeds to Angels for Veterans. Some photos of Freedom Days are found in our Gallery providing a glimpse into the weekend that so many enjoyed.

We were fortunate to have two Hueys this year. We all enjoy the spirit and thrill of these magnifigcant choppers. Some even enjoyed a flight over the lake.

Let us take time to understand that these units deserve our attention and respect for their mission of duty.

It's amazing to realize the dedication of all Medics during combat.  Our Medics and Hueys performed heroic life saving efforts all day, all night, each day of combat.  When the injured cannot be reached due to heavy combat, it is the chopper with the Medic who place themselves in the most compromised situations to leave no one behind. It is a Medic who will be dropped from the chopper to get to our wounded. Together they perform rescue missions that made the miracle to bring loved ones home.

It is our veterans and military that we so much to.  They made sacrifices that most will never comprehend.  Please take time to say thank you to the veterans you meet along the way.

Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to organize and bring Freedom Days to us this year.

Angels for Veterans delivered Christmas gifts to the Dayton VA Hospital

Angels delivered a 26” T.V. which is designated for bedside use. This T.V. will enable veterans to play video games and engage in other Recreational Therapy. The television will be on a cart and travel bedside to those who are unable to go to other designated areas. Our special thanks to Celina, Ohio Wal Mart for the donation of the television.

Angels also delivered Christmas packages of personal care items along with personalized greeting cards. Our hope is that our gifts reflect and demonstrate that they are never forgotten and alone.

On that same day of gift giving, some time was taken to visit the Dayton Veteran Memorial Cemetery.  This is a magnificent, somber, and reverent place to visit. You are encourage to take the time to visit a location near you. Please view some photos at our photo gallery. Simply click on the first photo and the others will open.

Angels for Veterans is a non profit organization and we appreciate your support.
