Angel PAWS News story

Angels for Veterans gifts a Companion Dog to a veteran in Ohio.

Our New program "Angel PAWS" provides Service and Companion Dogs.

Learn more. Donate. Become a sponsor.

Our first Angel PAWS dog was donated to an Ohio Veteran who was in need of a Companion Dog.

Gus is the perfect dog according to his new owner Rich.  Rich says that they spend a lot of time camping and back packing together. Rich says that he is starting to feel like his old self once again.

The purpose of our Angel PAWS program is to help veterans suffering from PTSD and to aid veterans who have physical disabilities.

Angels Founder, Sandra Bohle says that. "Angels for Veterans exists for these outcomes. This program allows us to  not only help change the life of a veteran, but to save a wonderful rescue dog at the same time. It is a win win situation."

Gus is a rescue dog from the Greater Dayton Lab Rescue and was trained by Dr. K9 Phil

Please visit our photo gallery. We will have a video of Gus and Rich in the coming weeks ahead.

ANGELS FOR VETERANS 3RD ANNUAL GOLF OUTING

Fun and Good times were had by all! Held 09-June-2012 at Northmoor Golf Club, Celina, Ohio

Once again we had a beautiful day to play golf. We had a group of great folks this year.  The winners were thrilled with their prizes. This year we provided an opportunity to win a car with a hole in one.

The day provided sunshine, laughter, and good food. The money that was raised will help us with our new program, Angel PAWS. Angel PAWS provides veterans with Service and Companion Dogs.

We would like to thank all of the organizations, retailers, and individuals who sponsored holes on the course this year. Thanks to those who donated all the wonderful gift items. A special and warm thank you to all the participants and volunteers who made this a great day!

Please join us once again next year. Details to be announced….

AMERICAN LEGION MID WINTER CONFERENCE

Angels for Veterans Director/Founder Sandra Bohle was the Keynote Guest Speaker at the Marriott Hotel in Columbus, Ohio on January 20, 2012

The Grand Ball Room was filled with energetic  women.  Bohle said that it was a pleasure to speak to like minded women.  The women who gathered in Columbus  were there for the Mid Winter Conference of the American Legion’s Woman’s Auxiliary. Members and Leaders gathered from across the state of Ohio.

Bohle talked about the purpose, goals and the direction of Angels for Veterans.  Bohle stated that a veteran should never have a battle to fight in the country which he or she had gallantly served. It should not be a struggle to survive at home.   That our veterans had kept their promises to us and that we need to help keep the promises made to them. Bohle said that we need to step up. We need to be diligent to make sure that we do everything that we can do to make sure that our systems are working. Each veteran is precious.

Bohle spoke about a new and upcoming program. Angels for Veterans up and coming,  Dog Program. Angels will be purchasing dogs for veterans who suffer from PTSD.  Funds need to be raised to meet the demand. She explained that organizations and individuals can help by sponsoring a dog for a veteran.

Bohle explained that dogs can have a positive and profound effect on veterans with PTSD. They become new Best Buddies. Dogs can hold your secrets, be your comforter in the dark and in the daylight.  Dogs earn the title of Man’s Best Friend over and over again. A dog will not judge. It will love unconditionally.

Bohle invited all the women to become part of Angels for Veterans. She suggested that they organize groups in their counties to become busy Angels. She invited them on the wonderful journey ahead.  Bohle promised that together they can make a difference in the lives of many veterans.

Bohle explained that donations can be taken at the website through PayPal.

Checks can be mailed to Angels for Veterans P.O. Box 611, Celina, Ohio 45822
